Bots are about to spell the end for Instagram, and we will only have ourselves to blame for it. Spam killed Twitter and we left it behind, our parents made Facebook boring so we stopped posting. Also, just in general, stop leaving lame comments with your bot on my Instagram like "boom", "great profile, you should check mine out too" or the one the tipped me into writing this "Can I just tell you how much I love your IG? Love how real you are! Keep it up!" Turn your bot off and lets live in a social reality, and not a fake 50k currently on your profile.

It is time to be honest with yourself and the companies you are getting free gear from. Maybe that is why you really need to bot? You are addicted to seeing those hearts and silhouette head numbers come up overtime you open the app. And if (or more so when) we see the mass departure from Instagram, where will you all be? Lonely with a big pile of old free gear and no one but other bots to like your photos. The only problem is that these bots all you young ripping snowboarders, skiers, surfers and mountain bikers and seemingly endless travels use will be your own demise and the demise of Instagram.

My engagement, likes and following is quickly falling behind others willing to cheat the system and pay up their $10 a month, many getting a much worth while return on investment. The current fakeness of Instagram is making me want to leave the platform, but as an influencer myself, with several sponsors and NO bots, I can't.

While on one hand, I say good job, with the other, I say enough is enough. The numbers went up quickly for these pro-Instagrammers that used their large and mostly fake following to trick outdoor adventure companies into sending them free gear and sometime even money. When bots first came about, savvy Instagrammers jumped on them and tricked others into following their account. The bots can also like post, follow and unfollow accounts. If you haven't noticed yourself, or don't know what an Instagram bot is, it is a service that you link to your account, often paying about $10.00/month for, that will automatically troll hashtags you select and leave comments on other peoples post that use it. An overwhelming number of comments I get from any given post is either from the most bored person in the world, or more likely from a paid Instagram bot service. We can all see through the lame comments you leave on others accounts in hopes to gain followers and wow companies with your fake popularity, all in a sick and twisted way to get free gear, or even worse, money. You are not tricking anyone with your Instagram bot anymore.
